The commercial centre of Kalambaka, the Town Hall and its square with the beautiful fountain are one step away from hotel Rex. In Kalambaka town you will find various cafes, bars and traditional coffee houses offering the local specialty of tsipouro (a strong drink like ouzo).

The taxi rank and the public bus station are just two minutes away from Hotel Rexl, while it takes 15 minutes to walk to the railway station of Kalambaka.

We recommend you go on a nice walk from our hotel to the Old Town of Kalambaka (district of Sopotos) where you can admire the old architecture and little houses built on top of rocks. 

Our staff will also assist you to find your way to Kalambaka’s historical Church of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin (built on an ancient temple of Apollo).

Within a 100 metres from our hotel it is worth visiting an original Copper shop (one of the very few left in Greece), the Rombos halva shop (a special local cake shop with a tradition of 80 years) and finally the cake shop Kivelia where you can taste the John Lennon pudding (John Lennon and Yoko Ono visited this place in 1969 and expressed their admiration for this pudding).

While in Kalambaka it’s worth first seeing Metsovo, a village where people still wear their national costumes at a distance of 65 kilometres, and secondly the district of Aspropotamos with its mountainous villages at a distance of 32 kilometres.
